The Holy Trinity Church represents an important historical and religious testimony of Latvia, linked to the spread of Orthodoxy in the 19th century and the tragic events of World War II.

History
The Holy Trinity Church (Bērzaunes pareizticīgo baznīca), once a place of Latvian Orthodox worship, stood in the parish of Bērzaune, in the district of Madona, between the villages of Bērzaune and Sauleskalns.

It was built following the conversion of local peasants to Orthodoxy in the mid-19th century. On 16 August 1944, during the Second World War, the church was destroyed during the advance of the Red Army.
It now lies in ruins hidden among brambles and trees.
